Performance Mark Average uses Block 45 from evaluations in your current paygrade
Different evaluation periods for E4, E5, and E6/E7 advancement
Precise computation based on Navy advancement guidelines

Only evaluations in your current paygrade count
Use evaluations within the timeframe specified by the NAVADMIN
Block 45 is the only part of the evaluation used for PMA

Past 8 to 9 months of evaluations
Past 14 to 15 months of evaluations
Past 36 months of evaluations

Your paygrade determines which evaluations are used and the calculation method for PMA.
E4-E5: Simple PMA calculation (shown here)
E6-E7: RSCA PMA calculation (available in FMS Calculator)
Your PMA is calculated based on Block 45 scores from your evaluations
PMA = (Sum of Block 45 scores) ÷ (Number of evaluations)
Note: This simple calculation is only applicable for E4 and E5 candidates. E6 and E7 candidates must use the RSCA PMA calculation in the FMS Calculator.
